The certificates, or copies of certificates, of early childhood educators and assistants are prominently displayed in the facility. [CCLR 11(4)]

Observation. LO observed one staff certificate is not prominently displayed in the facility.

Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

Observation. LO reviewed children's records: - 1 child's record indicates inconsistent information on what the allergy is - 1 child's record indicate an allergy however there is no information on how to support the child in an event of an allergic reaction - 1 child does not have a Request for Administration of Medication form

Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]

Observation. LO observed sleeping mats are placed with bedding touching posing a risk of cross contamination.

The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

Observation. LO observed information on start date of enrolment in the community care facility is not provided for all children.

Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

Observation. LO reviewed all staff files: - 7 staff do not have a record of work history - 5 staff do not have immunization status - 3 staff have criminal record checks addressed to another organization. 1 staff does not have a criminal record check under the Criminal Records Review Act. 4 staff do not have a criminal record check. - 7 staff do not have character references - All staff do not have documentation to support their certificate was verified using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry.

Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

Observation. LO observed a fire drill was not practiced for the month of December
