Observation. Licensing observed in two classrooms, sleeping mats are stored with bedding touching posing a risk of cross contamination.

Observation. Licensing observed in the outdoor play space: - limited materials for children to play with. - both sandboxes were closed. A staff stated the sandbox is only available to children when it is sunny. Discussion took place to have materials accessible to children during outdoor play.

Observation. Licensing observed: - 1 child requires a medication as indicated by staff however their emergency records do not reflect this information - 2 children have allergies with information provided in their emergency card and posted in the classroom. Upon review of the information, there are discrepancies between the two sets of information. Discussion took place to ensure all information is captured and that information is updated and reflected in all records.

Licensing reviewed all staff records: - 2 do not have documentation to support their certificate was verified using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry. - 2 do not have evidence that they complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. - 3 have criminal records addressed to other organizations. Licensing reviewed all volunteer records: - 2 do not have evidence that they complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. - 2 do not have character references.

The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]
Observation. Licensing observed in the outside playground a mound of dirt covered by artificial turf and an electrical box on the top of the mound. On the wall were electrical wires covered by conduit plastic covering. Licensing is concerned children have access to the electrical box and wires, which could cause a serious injury.
