    Behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of each child. [CCLR Sec.51(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that during the inspection, children participated in free play, snack and then circle time where all the children were provided chairs for circle. Some the children did not want to participate in the circle after a few minutes by climbing off their chair and either trying to crawl or step away, but a staff member would bring them back and place them back in the chair. While there were children engaged in the circle time, for the children who did not want to participate there were no other toys and materials set up for the children to explore while having the opportunity to listen to the circle time at the same time.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the children were not being supervised by the by qualified employees according to the legislation.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. The facility is clean and well maintained, but in the bathroom the tiles are spongy and beginning to lift. Licensing is concerned that maybe due to the moisture, there is a health risk of possible mold to begin to develop.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed 4 concrete tiles which are used to cover holes from previous posts in the ground. Licensing is concerned the concrete slabs present a risk of injury if a child trips on or onto the concrete tile.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. The facility is clean and well maintained, but it was observed that some of the mats are starting to tear at the corners and therefore are unable to be sanitized. And in the bathroom there is some maintenance that is happening around the sink. The Manager did state that there is a plumber coming this weekend and they will plan how to finish the bathroom work.
