  • PROGRAM / Program of activitiesNon-critical

Each child is provided with daily outdoor play periods unless weather conditions make it unreasonable to do so. [CCLR Sec.44(3)]

Observation. During todays visit, LO observed group using gym (multipurpose room) during "outside time". Manager stated that they do use the gym (multipurpose room) as well as take the group for walks (some days) or occasional trips to the field / park at Minoru (depending on parent participation). It is important that children have opportunity to have outdoor play periods every day unless weather conditions make it unreasonable. Living in BC, there are very few days when the weather makes it unreasonable to be outdoors. When the facility was originally licenced, there would have been a plan for daily outdoor play that must be followed. Changes to your original application would have to be submitted for review if daily outdoor plan is not occurring.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING / Care PlansNon-critical

The licensee records compliance with the care plan of a child requiring extra support for all applicable aspects of care. [CCLR Sec. 58(3)]

Observation. As discussed with the manager, there is limited information in the log book (communication book). It was also discussed that there is no information showing how staff are incompliance with children's care plans. Options for various ways to document and store this information was discussed.
