    Observation. Licensing observed several toys and a toy shelf stored in the bathtub were accessible to children. During inspection Manager closed the door of the bathtub.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed various sizes of boxes with toys stored on the top of the shelves in a space where children play; which could potentially fall over in the event of an earthquake.

    Observation. Licensing observed child lock was broken on the lower freezer drawer of the fridge that was accesible to children..

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the following in one of the double sinks used for children’s hand washing: -1 Kitchen butcher knife -3 sponge/bottle brushes -Small compost bin

    Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

    A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (a) a covered container for soiled clothing.

    Observation. During inspection licensing did not observe a covered container for soiled diapers in the area where the diapering change table was located.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that a covered container for soiled diapers is available at all times next to the diapering change table.

    The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

    Observation. There was a care plan that was due to be reviewed in 2019. The staff was unsure if the directions in the care plan were still appropriate to follow.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the information is updated and reviewed regularly to clearly reflect the course of actions required by staff and any other direction pertaining to the care plan.

    Observation. Upon inspection, there were many heavy toys stored up high above where children played and a flat screen TV above where a child was napping that could potentially fall in the event of an earthquake.
