    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed a climber that was not positioned with a 6-foot clearance surrounding the equipment. The climber was also located in close proximity to a concrete ledge along the fence line, creating a potential impact hazard for children using the equipment.

    There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the emergency supplies are still located inside a cabinet in the storage room with items placed in front of the cabinet obstructing the access to these supplies. This item been noted in the previous report. Licensing observed the food and water have expired November 2024.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed all staffing records and identified staff members who did not have a valid Criminal Record Check on file. A discussion was held with the Manager regarding the requirement for a Criminal Record Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector Check. The Manager was advised that a standard police information check is not sufficient, as it does not include a Vulnerable Sector Check.

    The emergency plan is not practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(c)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that monthly fire drills are being documented, with the most recent fire drill recorded as May 2026. The last emergency drill was recorded on January 2025. Reminder to ensure that the date of each practice is clearly documented as part of the record.

    Observation. Licensing observed 10 children in the classroom with one Early Childhood Educator Assistant during today’s inspection. Additionally, during outdoor play, 18 children were observed with two educators.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following items in the Preschool Room 1: *Beddings on mats were stacked directly on top of one another, which poses a hygiene concern. *Boxes of materials were stacked and placed on the floor. As they were accessible to children, this presents a tripping hazard.
