    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. LO noted that the fence attached to a baby gate in one room was damaged and posed a potential risk to injury to children. The staff covered the damaged area with clear tape.

    All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

    Observation. LO noted a music teacher employed by a company and not the licensee was present and scheduled to provide lessons at the facility. The teacher was not included in the staff-to-child ratio. The licensee had not obtained a Criminal Record Check (CRC) as required under CCLR Section 20. No documentation or file for the teacher was available on-site for licensing review.

    Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

    Observation. There was an insufficient supply of loose part ( toys / balls / creative play ) available while the children were outside. LO mentioned this to the staff, asking if there were more balls or items for the play kitchen etc., and they shook their heads as if to indicate no, staff did not bring anything further out to support children's play.

Minimal shade outside, playground does not receive natural air flow and was very hot. Some corner protectors were missing from furniture.
