Observation. Licensing observed a paper towel dispenser without paper towels available and toilet holder empty without toilet paper. Children did not have direct access to paper towels after hand washing and were observed shaking their wet hands as they exited the washroom. Toilet paper was not made direct access to children.

Observation. Licensing observed the following during today's visit: *Tree nuts found in the fridge when there is a child with a tree nut allergen requiring an anaphylaxis medication. *Gluten food was present around a child with a gluten allergen.

Equipment, furniture and supplies are located so as not to block or hamper exits in the case of fire or other emergency. [CCLR Sec. 15(1)(b)]
Observation. Licensing observed toy materials on the floor near the door in the nap room, creating a tripping hazard and obstructing the exit.

Observation. Licensing observed the emergency supplies and noted that the food and water had expired in November 2025. As the expiration of the emergency supplies was previously cited during the last inspection, the food and water were not replenished upon expiry.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: *A care plan was not created for a child requiring anaphylaxis medication and a child with a medical condition.

A record for each child containing the daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure is not kept. Observation. Licensing observed that 8 children were signed in on the attendance sheet; however, 9 children were present. Licensing spoke with staff regarding the importance of ensuring that daily attendance records accurately reflect the number of children in care. Staff corrected the attendance record during the inspection. Licensing review all children's record and found one child without immunization status.

Observation. Licensing observed that the last fire drill was recorded on March 17, 2026. Staff confirmed that the April drill was missed. The last emergency drill was recorded on March 12, 2026.

Observation. Licensing observed the following during today's visit: *The nap room is pitch black when the lights are turned off and the door is closed for napping, making it completely dark and preventing proper supervision of the children during nap time. *Children’s foam chairs are ripped, exposing the foam, which makes them difficult to properly clean and disinfect. *Children’s blankets were placed together, stacked on top of each other, which poses a hygienic concern due to potential cross-contamination.

First aid kits are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided away from premises. [CCLR Sec. 23(2)]
Observation. Licensing observed that the first aid kit did not contain any band-aids and lacked sufficient first aid supplies.

Observation. Licensing reviewed the 2024 fire drill records and found no indication that an emergency drill had been conducted. Additionally, there are no records available for 2025 for an emergency drill. The Manager confirmed with Licensing that a fire drill was not conducted in April.
