A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. 1 child's registration file is missing doctor's name and number. As per the manager, the family does not yet have a family physician. Walk-in clinic information is sufficient.
Corrective action. The manager will follow up with the family to obtain this information.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. 1 staff with a valid criminal record check from another organization.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain a criminal record check that is specific to this organization.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Corrective action. The manager will obtain both immuniztion statuses to place in both individual's files.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. 1) A black pole in the middle of the outdoor area is rusty and due to the location of the pole, there is a potential for children to run into the pole. Licensing and the Manager discussed that if the pole cannot be removed then ensuring there is cushioned material wrapped around the pole. 2) 2 plastic slides are not on resilient surfacing. During the inspection, 1 slide was removed.
Corrective action. 1) Please ensure the rust on the black pole is addressed and a cushioned material is wrapped around the pole. 2) Please ensure slides are placed on resilient surfacing.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Bottom of 2 outdoor blue cement pillars are crumbling.
Corrective action. Please ensure the crumbling of the 2 pillars are addressed.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Disinfecting wipes on bathroom counter are accessible to children. Upon notifying the Manager, the wipes were placed elsewhere. Corrected during inspection.
Corrective action. Please ensure hazardous objects or substances are not accessible to children.
