    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): licensing noted Lysol wipes were on the counter top in the bathroom accessible to children.

    Corrective action. Manager moved the lysol wipes to a locked cabinet under the sink.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing noted the beds and bedding in the nap room were touching.

    Corrective action. Manager stated she will separate the beds to ensure they do not touch.

    Corrective action. Manager stated they do not have a book. They text families. Manager stated they will get a minor incident log book and ensure to keep a log going forward

    Observation. Licensing observed a cupboard until the sink in the washroom have a lock that was not in use, making the cupboard accessible to children. Inside the cupboard there were two bottles of bleach which may pose a hazard to children.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any substance that may be hazardous to the health or saftey of the child in care.

    Observation. In discussion with the manager, she stated that the emergency prepardness kit was not available on site. It was taken off site to be replenished; therefore emergency supplies are insufficient to implement the emergency plan. This is a repeat contravention from inspection report # ONIR-CFUQVN.

    Corrective action. Please ensure emergency prepardness kit is available and on site at all times.

    Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon entering facility, there were 4 children awake and 1 child still napping. The manager, who is an ECE, stated that her Infant/toddler educator had left the facility to pick up some supplies. Licensing observed the manager calling the staff and their arrival back was within 10minutes of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that Infant/Todller ratio is maintained at all times.

    Observation. During the inspection of the facility and conversations with the manager it was noted that the facility does not yet have an emergency preparedness kit for all children. Education was provided about the items needed in the kit. Transportation to the emergency location of the infant/toddlers as well as the annually practice of the emergency preparedness drill was discussed with the manager

    Corrective action. Please ensure you have an emergency kit for all children and staff to prepare, mitigate, respond and recover in any emergency.
