    Observation. Upon inspection there was no record of the emergency evacuation.

    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

    Observation. Upon inspection of two staff files, one staff did not have a criminal record check from the Criminal Record Review Board. They did have one by the Owen Sound Police Service.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff has a criminal record check done by the Criminal Record Review Board.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection licensing reviewed 6 children's files and 2 children's files were missing an enrollment date.

    Corrective action. Manager added the enrollment dates while licensing was still on site.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

    Observation. During the routine inspection of the outdoor play space the following was observed: - the bottom part of the fence near the slide was showing sign of wear and tear . Some nails were exposed and coming out of the wooden part of the fence. The fence is in need of repair or replacement. - a plank located at the back of the play yard who supported some rocks was showing signs of rot and was coming away from the fence. This plank is in need of to be replacement or repair. - In the middle of the yard there was a pile of mushrooms containing 7 closed mushrooms.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the outdoor play space is in good repair and free of hazards.

    Observation. During the routine inspection it was observed that the emergency kit did not contain enough food. There was plenty of water available.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that you have enough food to mitigate, respond and recover from an emergency.

    Observation. During the routine inspection 6 children's files were reviewed and one child's file was missing an MSP number. Manager said they have recently (February, 2023) moved from Japan. Manager will follow up to see if the family received their MSP number.

    Observation. During the routine inspection it was observed that the water coming from the bathroom sink was 53 degrees Celsius.
