  • LICENSING

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

    Observation. Licensing was informed at the time of the inspection that the current manager is no longer the manager (programmer). The programmer is presently working as a support worker for one of the children who has diverse needs. A new programmer was appointed on September 2024. Change of manager papaer work was not received by licensing.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the change of manager is sent to licensing.

    A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that the fire drills from September 2023 to January 2024 were not available. Manager was not on site and the Programmer said that the fire drills were conducted but she does not know where the document with the noted drills was.

    Corrective action. Please ensure fire drills are practiced, marked and the document is avaialble for licensing to review.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection it was noted that the manager's name was missing. This is a repeat contravention from 2022.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the manager's name is on display.

    Observation. During he routine inspection and the review of the children's files it was noted that a child with past trauma and history of behavioural outbursts did not have a care plan on site. This is a repeat contravention from 2022.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all children that require extra support have a care plan on site.

    Observation. During the inspection 6 ransom children's files were reviewed and 3 were missing the doctor's name and phone number.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are completed.

    Observation. During the review of the log book it was noted that a reportable incident from Dec 15, 2021 was noted in the log book but was not reported to the licensing officer.

    Corrective action. Please ensure you report all reportable incidents to licensing officer within 24 hours of the child being involved in a reportable incident.

    Observation. During the inspection 6 random children's files were reviewed and all six children were missing the gender.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are completed.

    Observation. During the inspection it was revealed that three children requiring extra support did not have a care plan.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all children who require extra support have a care plan on file and available to all staff.

    A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

    Observation. During the inspection it was noted that the fire drill was not noted. After a discussion with the manager it was observed that the manager knew the fire drill must be practiced monthly. The manager assured the licensing officer that the fired drill was practiced monthly but it was not in the Ipad where it supposed to be saved.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the fire drill is noted either on the IPad or a hard copy in the facility.
