Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection three staff files were reviewed and one staff did not have references.

    Corrective action. While on site, the staff was able to get two references to add to the file.

    Corrective action. Manager said that the staff will register to have their First Aid renewed.

    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection 4 staff files were reviewed and one staff was missing proof of immunization. While finishing the inspection the staff filled out the Fraser Health Employee Immunization form and showed it to licensing.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all files are complete.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing Officer observed a stool located close to a railing on the second floor of the childcare area where the observation deck is located. Children are cared for and access tables and their personal belongings in this area. The stool close to the railing poses a potential risk of falling if a child were to stand on the stool.

    Corrective action. The Licensee corrected this during the inspection.

    Observation. Staff have been practicing and recording the emergency planning monthly; however, they have not been practicing and recording the fire drill system at least once each month.

    Corrective action. Ensure to keep a current record of practicing the fire drill system.
