Observation. LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager: Water temperature in Preschool classroom's sink was measured at 53 degree Celsius. This sink/water is accessible to children.
Corrective action. Please ensure that water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degree Celsius.

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation. 2 staff files were reviewed; a staff member's file was not available onsite. A conversation was had with the Manager about keeping all staff files in a single place within the facility including sub teachers.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all staff files are available onsite for review.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Hot water temperature measures 51.7 degrees Celsius at the sink used for hand washing in the program room.
Corrective action. Please ensure hot water temperature is not more than 49 degrees Celsius.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Fire drill record indicates a drill was not conducted in September in the Preschool Program and in October in the Group child Care (school age) Program.
Corrective action. Please ensure fire drills are conducted monthly as per requirements. In addition, as per discussion, please ensure the annual emergency drill includes practicing evacuation with the emergency supplies to the alternative site and ensuring sufficient supplies are available to be able to provide care for up to 72 hours if needed.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Twelve registration records were reviewed and were complete with the exception of missing the care card number for one child.
Corrective action. Please ensure all records are complete for all children.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation. Four staff files were reviewed and the following was noted: resume is missing for one staff; Criminal Record check is missing for one staff and for another the result is not site specific; proof of traing is missing for one staff; and record of validation is missing one staff.
Corrective action. As per discussion, please ensure staff records are complete on site or there is a record indicating what is on file if some records are kept at the main office.
