A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. LO observed two unstable shelving units and an unsecured keyboard cover on a piano in the children's play area. In the outdoor play space, LO observed a shed with sharp gardening tools and machinery, which was accessible to children in care.

Corrective action. Licensee to ensure all items are secured and/or inaccessible to children in care.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. LO observed no record of fire drills being implement This was confirmed by the Licensee.

Corrective action. Licensee to conduct monthly fire drills.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. LO reviewed five children's files; one child did not have a file showing the following information while in attendance: name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Corrective action. Licensee to obtain registration form.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Licensing reviewed five children's files; one child did not have a file while in attendance.

Corrective action. Licensee to obtain registration form.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensee observed one child had not been signed into the program.

Corrective action. Licensee to keep current record of attendance

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. LO reviewed five children's files; one child did not have a file which would indicate the name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact while in attendance.

Corrective action. Licensee to obtain registration form.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. LO reviewed five children's files; one child did not have a photo or digital image while in attendance.
