  Observation. The earthquake kit was not prepared and they are no materials to respond to or recover from an emergency.

  Corrective action. Ensure that there are materials to respond to and recover from an emergency.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. 8 children's files were reviewed; 1 child was missing his Dr's information.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children files are complete.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Children were not signed in and out of the School Age program, i.e. before and after school hrs.

  Corrective action. Ensure children are accurately signed in and out of the program.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. 2 staff files were reviewed; 1 staff's certificate was not validated through the ECE registry.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

  Observation. Hot water measured at 54.1 degrees Celsius; washroom located by the gym where children wash their hands upon arrival.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that hot water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius.
