    Observation. - A toilet in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program washroom was out of order. To ensure there are enough toilets to meet the needs of the licensed capacity of children permitted to attend the program, the toilets must be in good repair. *Correct by: November 21, 2025.*

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. A sample of the children's registration records and emergency cards were reviewed. - A child's record was missing an emergency contact other than the parent. The name and contact information for a person, other than the parent, must be listed in the child's record for facility staff to use in the event of an emergency and when the child's parents cannot be reached. *Correct by: November 18, 2025.* - A child's care card number was missing from the emergency card. Pertinent medical information must be complete and readily accessible to the facility staff in the event of an emergency and when taking the children off site. *Correct by: November 18, 2025.* Other facility records such as the daily attendance for both programs, minor incident logs, and the play space inspection logs were also reviewed and they appeared satisfactory.

    Observation. - Ensure staff files contain the required documents including immunization status.

    Observation. - Ensure the name of the manager is posted in the facility as required.

    Observation. - One staff file had an expired criminal record check. Ensure that the renewed check is completed via the CCRP in Victoria.

    Observation. - Ensure care plans created for children requiring extra support include evidence that the parent of the child and any person requested by the parent was consulted. Other record keeping systems (i.e. minor incident log, attendance, child registration and emergency records, etc.) were reviewed by Licensing and they appeared satisfactory.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. - Licensing observed a small slide placed in the sandbox in the infant and toddler program's outside play yard. Licensing also observed various sand toys under and around this slide. Ensure that there is a 6ft clearance around any climbing equipment to prevent injury should a child fall. *Resolved during the inspection.

    Observation. No results for radon testing have yet been received for this facility. Testing for radon gas is required and must be completed for 90 days over the winter months which is the prime time to test. Once complete, please submit the results to licensing for data entry.

    Observation. Some staff files were missing evidence of immunization status.

    Observation. - Ensure the children's emergency information records include the children's gender as it is a distinguishing feature. Other record keeping methods were reviewed by licensing (i.e. minor incident log, attendance records, etc.) and they appeared satisfactory.

  • C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical

    Observation. - Ensure used diapers/pull-ups are disposed of in a covered container. Cleaning and hygiene practices were discussed. Licensing observed adequate hand washing supplies in place.
