• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. The minor incident log detailed an event that meets the definition of a reportable incident as outlined in Schedule H of the Child Care Licensing Regulations as Emergency Restraint. This incident that was not reported as required. Licensing Officer requested the incident to be submitted. Systems in place to ensure children's file have the required information appear to be ineffective. Licensing observed some children's files that are missing required information.

• C5.2 - Are children's individual nutritional needs being met?Critical

  Observation. Some children were observed walking/running around the gym while consuming food. This is not considered safe practice. Provide a policy that addresses safe eating practices.

• C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

  Observation. A child was observed leaving the facility program which occurs in the gymnasium a couple of times. This child would go from one door to the other, unsupervised at times in the school hallway. A staff was pulled from the program at times to deal with the situation leaving one staff to manage the remainder of the children. School age programs are often quite intense in regard to staffing and supervision. This situation indicates staffing levels may not be adequate at this time based on the situation observed. Please ensure staffing is sufficient in numbers to meet the needs of all the children.

  Observation. Based on observations today of a child leaving the facility program unsupervised, a care plan may be required to adequately support this child. Advise licensing if there is a need for a care plan and if so ensure it is in place as soon as possible.
