Observation. Radon testing was still underway. All licenced child care facilities are required to test for radon gas. Submit by May 30, 2025, the radon gas results for your facility.

Observation. The Licensing Officer observed that there was no log of child illnesses while in care. Licensee confirmed they did not keep a record of illnesses. The Licensee is required to keep a record of any illnesses while children are in care. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that there are records of any illnesses that have occurred while care is being provided. Child records were reviewed, and two children were missing written consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. The Licensee is required to have written consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of an accident or illness. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that the missing written consents have been added to the two children’s records. Attendance records were reviewed, and child absences were not recorded. The Licensee is required to keep attendance records including if a child is absent. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that all absences are being recorded. Digital images used to identify a child in an emergency were reviewed, and the digital image for two children were missing. The Licensee is required to keep a current digital image of each child that can be used to identify the child in an emergency. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that the two missing digital images have been added to the two children’s records.

Observation. Children were being diapered on an ottoman in the play space, away from a wash basin and covered soiled item container. Diapering is to occur next to both a hand wash basin and covered container. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation that diapering is no longer occurring in the play space.

Observation. The diaper change mat was covered in a non-impermeable fabric, and not adequately cleaned and sanitized between each use. Inadequate cleaning and sanitization could increase the risk of cross contamination and spread of germs. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that the diaper mat can be cleaned and sanitized between each use. The hot water was tested and found to be 61.4 degree Celsius. Water over 49 degrees Celsius poses a scald/burn risk to children. Submit by May 09, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that hot water accessible to children is no hotter than 49 degrees Celsius.
