  Observation. One care plan is past due for review. Care plans must be reviewed yearly to ensure the information in the care plan is relevant to the needs of the child. Submit to licensing by February 27, 2026, evidence the care plan has been reviewed and is in the child's file. Some medication forms do not contain information regarding what the medication is for and when to administer the medication. Incomplete medication forms increase risk of medications being improperly administered to a child. Submit to licensing by February 27, 2026, a plan that outlines how the medications forms will be completed to ensure the form includes detailed information regarding the medication administration.

  Observation. It appears the system in place to ensure the children's files are complete is ineffective. Some child records were missing required information such as doctor/clinic contacts, emergency contacts, and other identifying features of the child to be used in the event of an emergency. Records of medications administered do not include dosage.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. 1) It was alleged that the Licensee has employed an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) without having obtained a Criminal Record Check from the Criminal Records Review Program in British Columbia. Substantiated - The Licensee has a criminal record check from another province on file dated July 5, 2022. The employee's file shows that consent for a Criminal Record Check was submitted to the Criminal Records Review Program in British Columbia on October 3, 2022 but has not received results to date. 2) It was alleged that the Licensee has employed an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) without a valid ECEA Certificate from the Early Childhood Educator Registry in British Columbia. Unsubstantiated - The Licensee stated that the person has been employed as a responsible adult to assist in the child care program but has not worked in the staff to child ratio. There is a certificate in the employee's file from another province that demonstrates the person has taken some Early Childhood Education training to qualify them as a responsible adult. An application for an ECEA certificate was submitted to the Early Childhood Educator Registry on October 4, 2022, however the person has not received an ECEA Certificate that is valid in British Columbia to date.
