Observation. The Licensee has not informed Licensing of a temporary closure of the facility nor when the last day of care has been provided. The Licensee has not informed Licensing of a floor plan change and structural change to include the garage as useable space. The Licensee is required to inform Licensing of changes to the facility that are different from the original application. Submit to Licensing, by January 14, 2026, a notification for a temporary closure and floor plan/structural change.

Observation. The Licensee has an expired Criminal Record Check since June 05, 2024. As the Licensee of a Family Child Care, it is required to have a current Criminal Record Check on file to ensure the safety of the children in care. Submit to Licensing on January 14, 2025, evidence that you are in compliance. A person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present has an expired Criminal Record Check since December 14, 2025. The Licensee must ensure that Criminal Record Checks are current of persons that are ordinarily present. Submit to Licensing by January 16, 2025, evidence that you are in compliance.

Observation. It was observed that popcorn was served to toddlers. This poses a choking hazard and does not meet the nutritional requirements for young children.

Observation. - The child registration form in use does not collect a record of any person not permitted access to a child and the date on which the child stops attending. - A child registration form has not been completed for the licensees own child. - One child record is missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner and two are missing a medical insurance plan number. Review all child records to ensure they are complete and current. - Attendance records are missing many departure times since the written records viewed in February 2021 to the present electronic records. The licensees own children are not being signed in or out. This is a serious contravention that must be resolved with systems put into place to self-monitor and to prevent a re-occurrence.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. - An open storage shelf next to the patio doors is unstable. When the security of the shelf was tested, items fell from the top of the shelf. - Two cans of shaving cream in an accessible kitchen cupboard have a label warning to keep out of children's reach. - Two essential oils, one with a label warning, are accessible in a kitchen drawer. - Accessible heated water tested at 63.6 degrees Celsius. The hot water tap is not considered "disabled" since the knob without a handle could easily be turned. - Weekly play space inspections are being completed and logged. Perform and record daily and annual play space inspections, maintenance and repairs. The weekly log entries can replace the requirement for monthly play space inspections if the licensee chooses.
