• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. Upon review of registration information for children in care it was noted that care plans require updates as upon discussion the Licensee stated that conditions noted on registration forms were no longer accurate. Also, it was noted that two records did not have medical practitioners information. Minor Incident Log book, Attendance record, Outdoor Inspection log, Fire Drill log and Emergency Preparedness Practice log all reviewed and appeared complete and current during inspection.

  Observation. Child records are missing start dates for children attending. This date reflects the first date of attendance at the facility. Ensure registration documents include who may not "access" the child.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. During today’s inspection, Licensing observed the on-site outdoor play area to be entirely covered with thick ice. The Licensee stated it is still being used daily; however children’s activities are limited and closely monitored with more active play being implemented indoors to ensure the safety of the children. There has been one minor injury to a child from slipping on the ice. After reviewing the issue with the Licensee, Licensing has determined the yard currently presents a risk to the health and safety of children. Licensing discussed with the Licensee alternative options for outdoor programming by taking children on neighborhood walks and/or accessing local parks. Please submit to Licensing by the follow up date requested a plan detailing how the Licensee will provide daily outdoor programming (weather permitting) for the children in care while the on-site outdoor play space is inaccessible due to ice.
