Outdoor play space inspections have not been recorded since September 6, 2024. Provide a plan outlining how the licensee will ensure recording of all play space inspections, maintenance, etc. going forward.

    Observation. During today's inspection, Licensing observed preschool age children going inside alone to use the washroom while the group and caregiver remain in the outdoor area. Licensing reviewed the Licensee's supervision practice with children when the group is outside and a child needs to use the washroom. The Licensee is to develop a detailed plan of what washroom supervision will look like and how she will ensure children are supervised at all times. Licensing will email the Licensee a supervision handout resource to assist in the development of the plan.

  • C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical

    Observation. While present during the inspection, Licensing observed a child not wash hands after using the washroom. The Licensee was informed prior to Licensing leaving the facility.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. During discussions and review of facility documentation, it was apparent the Licensee has not recorded the annual practice for the emergency preparedness plan with children. Please submit an updated copy of the emergency plan to Licensing that includes detail of what the practice with children will look like annually.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Licensing observed the air conditioning unit in an area children play and access in the outdoor play space. Licensing discussed temporary solutions for making the unit inaccessible until a permanent structure may be installed. The follow up date is in regards to submitting a temporary plan to Licensing of how the Licensee will ensure children are not able to touch and access the unit.
