A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the following inside the facility: - Bleach bottle accessible to the children - Unlocked drawer with plastic bags accessible to the children. The Licensee made all the items above inaccessible.
Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A criminal record check for an individual who is ordinarily present was not available. A copy of a current and valid criminal record check was provided.
Corrective action. Ensure all individuals on site have a current and valid criminal record check.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Childrens backpacks and some jackets are stored together in a closet, all items are touching each other. A discussion was had with the Licensee to have children's belongings separated either by hooks or a cubby system to mitigate the spread of any bacteria or communicable diseases.
Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
If a person prepays part of the cost of services provided by a class of community care facilities designated by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, the licensee must, at the time of the prepayment, deliver to the person a written statement setting out the terms and conditions on which a refund of all or any of the prepayment will be made.
Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 6 reviewed, 1 file did not have the parent contract/agreement outlining the terms and conditions of refund to a person at the time of prepayment.
Corrective action. Ensure a prepayment agreement is in place for all registered children.
13080 - CCALA s.19 - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 6 reviewed,1 file contained information regarding a child's allergy. In discussion with the Licensee there is no care plan developed in consultation with the parent.
Corrective action. Ensure a care plan is created in consultation with the parent of the child requiring extra support.
19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for the Licensee.
Corrective action. Ensure there is evidence a person has complied with the Province's immunzation and tuberculosis control programs.
12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. ECE Validation was not obtained for the Licensee.
Corrective action. Ensure staff who hold an educator or assistant certificate, have their certificate verified by the Early Childhood Educator Registry.
