    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing inspected the nap room and found that there was a strong odor of mold. The manager stated that there was a flood that was discovered on August 19, 2025. The carpet was cleaned by the manager and a heater was installed with a fan. An electrician and plumber was contracted August 20, 2025 to fix light and discovered that the ceiling was wet and wanted to wait until the ceiling dried. The plumber fixed the tap in the kitchen to stop the leak from further developing. No further action has been taken since the August 20, 2025 to repair the damage from the flood in the nap room.

    Corrective action. Provide a corrective action plan

    Observation. The following was observed in the back yard area: - long grass in the backyard - uneven ground that present tripping hazard to young children - a large amount of cherry pits that have dropped from the neighbor's tree that present a choking hazard to young children - weeds and toxic plants have overgrown in the backyard - air conditioning unit in the backyard has not been secured and presents a hazard to children - the gate is broken and does not easily close or open - the telephone cord used to secure the gate open is a strangulation hazard - garbage cans are stored upside down in the children's play area and present a health hazard

    Corrective action. Provide a corrective action plan regarding the maintanance and repair of the back yard area

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was observed during inspection: - cleaning products are stored in a closet that is unlocked and accessible to children - the front loader washing machine is not locked and accessible - a significant amount of standing water was found in an over turned swimming pool and a garbage can that was left without a lid.

    Corrective action. Make cleaning supplies inaccessible. All standing water should be removed prior to the children coming into care.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - the gate that leads to the backyard is held open and fixed to the fence by a string. Licensing tried to close the gate but was unable to because the latch does not close easily. When asked, the manager stated that the door does not close well so she props it open to make it easier for families. When playing outside the manager pulls the door closed but it's difficult to open up again. - The grass is long and the back yard play area has many uneven areas where the children have dug holes. Due the age of children in care it makes it dangerous for younger children to play. - children have direct access to a generator and air conditioning unit. - the facility sandbox requires repair, including refilling of sand and a cover for sanitization reasons. - garbage cans for the house are stored in the middle of the play yard

    Corrective action. - Repair the gate - preform maintenance on the yard including cutting the grass, repairing holes and removing garbage cans from the middle of the playard. - repair sandbox

    Observation. Licensing observed that there were more than 4 children younger than 48 months in care during inspection. A review of attendance records found on a date the previous week, there were 5 children younger than 48 months

    Corrective action. Ensure that the facility is divided into group size as per Schedule E of the Child Care Licensing Regulations.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. During the inspection of the outdoor physical facility the following was noted: - yard trimmings such as sticks were scattered on the ground and accessible to children. - big rocks were in the near proximity of the toddler slide. - no system in place to ensure the depth and adequacy of protective surfacing. There was no resilient surface for the toddler slide.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the facility is in clean and good repair.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. During the inspection of the outside physical facility the following was noted: - a plastic broken pot with jagged edges was behind the shed and accessible to young children. - broken cement slabs were scattered around the play are and were accessible to young children. - three separate piles of petrified animal feces were found near the toddler slide presenting a hazard to young children. - sharp rocks were scattered around the play area.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any hazardous items.

    Observation. During the inspection it was noted that the licensee was not following the plan submitted with the temporary placement application form submitted earlier in the year. The plan stipulates that a secondary staff is available from 10 AM to 1:00 PM. A second staff arrived on premise approximately 10 min after the licensing officer arrived on premise.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that the temporary placement proposed plan is followed.
