A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Air freshener in the bathroom was accessible to children - High chairs were not cleaned and sanitized before use - Handwashing was not completed before children sat down to eat

Corrective action. Ensure there is a system to maintain a healthy and safe environment.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. Licensing observed the fire drills were not completed since the facility has been licensed.

Corrective action. Ensure fire drills are completed monthly.

A licensee must keep (a) a copy of the written statement, referred to in section 19 of the Act, that the licensee delivers to persons who prepay part of the cost of services

Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed all 8 files do not contain a repayment agreement.

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed: - 4 files do not contain immunzation status - 1 file does not contain care card information

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed 2 files do not contain the enrollment date.

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. There is no records available indicating the departure, arrival and absence of each child. Due to records being unavailable for review, Licensing can not determine whether staff to child ratio and Schedule E was met.

Corrective action. Ensure a sign in/out system is created.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 8 reviewed: - 1 file did not contain doctor's information - 1 file did not contain emergency contact

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

Observation. Records for 3 children were not available for review.

Corrective action. Ensure all records are available for review.
