  A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.

  Observation. Information regarding the daily snacks served to the children by the facility are not provided to parents on a daily basis.

  Corrective action. Ensure all food and drink served by the facility are made available to parents.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. A random selection of staff files were reviewed, out of the 3 reviewed, 1 staff certificate was not verified.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

• MEDICATION

  If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

  Observation. The emergency medication for a child had expired and was removed from the facility by the parent the previous week therefore the medication was not available to employees to administer should an allergic reaction occur.

  Corrective action. Replace emergency medication prior to the child returning to daycare or an additional plan is in place to address the emergency
