Observation. Three employees are missing verification of their certificate through the system established by the director of the early childhood educator registry. Verification of a certificate ensures that the employee is qualified with the training necessary to care for children. Submit by August 4, 2025, evidence that the certificates have been verified.

Observation. There was no evidence that the employees practiced the emergency plan in the last year. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on July 21, 2023 and July 4, 2024. Implementing the emergency plan at least once each year will ensure employees are prepared in the event of an emergency. Submit by August 4, 2025, evidence all employees have conducted the required yearly emergency plan.

Observation. Employee files are incomplete. A system is in place to ensure employee files are complete, however, appears to be ineffective. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on July 25, 2022 and July 21, 2023. One file is missing the following documentation: -A cleared criminal record check in the facility name for the employee. -Evidence the person has complied with the Province's immunization program. Two files are missing: -Character references. -Evidence of certificate validation from the ECE Registry. -First aid certificate that meets requirements as per Schedule C of the Child Care Regulation. A person must not be employed until all required documents have been obtained. Outline how the system developed will be maintained and utilized for all employee records.

Observation. It was observed that a fire drill was not conducted for the month of June 2024. Each employee is required to practice the fire drill system once a month. Outline the system to ensure fire drills are occurring and documented once a month. It was disclosed during inspection that each employee has not practiced implementing the emergency plan in the past year. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on July 21, 2023. Employees must be informed on all emergency plans. A record of the annual review or practice of the plans must be kept on file. Outline the system developed to ensure the emergency drill is practiced by all employees at least once a year.

Observation. Children's files are incomplete. A system is in place to ensure children's files are complete, however, appears to be ineffective. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on July 25, 2021 and July 25, 2022. One file is missing the name and phone number of an emergency contact other than the parent. One file is missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner. Outline how the system developed will be maintained and utilized for all children's records. A system to document outdoor play space inspections is in place however, appears to be ineffective as some days do not have a record of the checks being conducted. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on July 25, 2022. A log of all play space inspections, maintenance and repairs must be kept to ensure the health and safety of children in care. Outline how the system developed will be maintained and utilized for recording daily inspections.

Observation. It was observed during inspection an employee entered the facility and left the children alone and unsupervised in the outdoor play area.

Observation. Through a review of staff records it was observed that two files were missing references and one file was missing proof of compliance with the province's immunization and TB control program.

Observation. Items were observed to be blocking the exit to outside from the kitchen area. Gaps under the fence measured 3.5-9 inches and pose potential risk of entrapment in the outdoor play area. A retaining wall in the outdoor play area needs repair and poses potential safety hazard for the children.

Observation. Some children were disclosed to move programs for nap time daily and is not being recorded on attendance forms.

Observation. The emergency drill has not been practiced by all employees in the past year.

Observation. Children's lunch boxes were not refrigerated and some were missing ice packs in order to ensure food is at a safe temperature.

Observation. A staff file was missing character references and work history.

Observation. The date of enrollment was missing in a child's record. Children's files were missing photos. There were several days where the daily play space inspections were not completed.

Observation. A random selection of employee files were checked. Some employees did not have evidence that they complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control program.
