• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. It was disclosed the Licensee sent the children home early on one day of operation due to a nearby housefire. The service delivery problem was not reported to Licensing as required. Licensing needs to be notified within 24 hours after a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident as described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee. Submit the reportable incident as required and outline the system developed to ensure any incident as outlined in Schedule H is reported to licensing within 24 hours of the incident. Children's files are missing a current photo or digital image of each child. A current photo or digital image of each child needs to be kept to readily identify the child in the event of an emergency. Confirm all children have a current photo on file and outline the system developed to ensure the photos are kept up to date.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensee's first aid certificate has recently expired.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Screws were found in a drawer accessible to children. A system needs to be implemented to ensure the fridge temperature is maintained at 4 degrees Celsius or lower. An Eavestrough in the play yard has sharp edges that are accessible to children. The foundation in the play yard has a large area of exposed Styrofoam accessible to children.

  Observation. A review of children's records found the following items missing: -medical insurance plan numbers -medical practitioner name and phone number -other distinguishing characteristics to readily identify a child in an emergency

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. It was observed there was no record indicating the emergency plan has been implemented yearly.

  Observation. Playground inspections are being performed however there is no system in place to provide evidence of this.

• Has the facility been tested for radon gas?Non-critical

  Observation. Testing has not been conducted at the facility. Licensing provided information on Radon testing during the inspection and via email.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. As per the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice - Active Play, a written Active Play/Screen time policy is required to be in place and provided to parents.

  Observation. The Licensee's first aid certification is no longer valid.
