Health & safety record

2 critical and 5 non-critical findings recorded since 2025.

June 17, 2026Routine Inspection1 critical, 3 non-critical
  • C5.2 - Are children's individual nutritional needs being met?Critical

Observation. Snack afterschool is offered to the children at 3:45pm on the day of inspection. One child expressed they were hungry at 3:20pm and was told they had to wait by the employee. When snack was served the child who expressed hunger was already picked up by their parent. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure children are offered sufficient food and drink with having regard to the number of hours in care. Given the child was at school all day, the time snack is offered does not meet the needs of children in care. A response is required by June 26, 2026 to outline how the risk will be mitigated.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

Observation. The cupboard under the sink is unlocked leaving the cleaning supplies and dishwasher detergent accessible to the children. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure children do not have access to any substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. A response is required by June 25, 2026 to confirm the risk has been mitigated.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

Observation. One child did not arrive to the program afterschool as expected. The employees on site are not aware of any procedure that is required to be conducted in order to locate the child who did not arrive to the program as expected. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure all children are accounted for that are expected to participate in the program daily in order to ensure the health and safety of the child. A response is required by June 26, 2026 to outline how the risk has been mitigated.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

Observation. One employee file reviewed is incomplete and missing one character reference. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on January 14, 2025. A person must not be employed until the Licensee has received all required records to ensure the person is suitable to work with children. A response is required by June 26, 2026 to confirm records are complete.

  • C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

Observation. It was observed the manager name is not posted in the facility. It is required to have the name of the manager of the facility posted in a prominent place. Confirm when the manger name has been posted.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

Observation. Through a review of employee files it was observed the files to be incomplete. Both files are missing evidence the person has complied with the Province's immunization program. One file is missing the record of the person's work history. A person must not be employed until the manager has obtained the required records. Confirm when the files are complete and outline the system developed to ensure the files have all records as required.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. Through a review of a sampling of children's files it was observed the files to be incomplete. All files are missing the sex of the child. One file is missing consent in writing to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness.
