• A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. On more than one occasion, Children did not have immediate access to an employee with valid first aid and CPR.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed two shelves in the napping area that were not secured to the wall, posing a fall hazard.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (b) a wash basin.

  Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed diapers and change mat located next to the food preparation area. The Staff explained that children wash their hands in the washroom, however staff use the kitchen sink after diaper changes.

  Corrective action. Please ensure diapers are changed located away from the food preparation area, next to a hand basin.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  Despite subsection (2)(a) and (d), a licensee who provides a care program described as Child-minding must do all of the following: (b) if a child's immunization status is not reasonably known or available to the child's parent, keep a record detailing as much information as is known respecting the child's immunization status.

  Observation. Upon review of 7 children's files, 1 child's immunization status was not available. Licensee stated this information has not been collected from this parents, and will be requesting this upon pickup of the child.

  Corrective action. Please ensure child records are complete.
