    Observation. A lock on the cupboard under the kitchen sink failed to remain locked when tested during the inspection. Cleaning supplies are stored in the cupboard. Children must not have access to any item that is labeled 'keep out of reach of children'. A reliable method of ensuring children do not have access to these items is required. The temperature of the water accessible to children at the bathroom sink measured above the 49 degree Celsius limit. A method of ensuring that the water temperature stays below 49 degrees is required.

    Observation. It was observed that some medication and vitamin bottles are being stored in a manner that is accessible to the children.

    Observation. There are two large shelf units in the play room, one is quite heavy, but wobbly from side to side and the other is easy to move. Licensee suggested that these could b affixed to the walls. This would reduce the risk of injury to children if a child did climb the shelving units.

    Observation. Observations : Log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded Contravention: A review of children's emergency cards indicated that two children had Dr's names, however the telephone numbers were missing

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. Observations: Licensee is suitably trained and experienced to operate a family child care facility. First Aid and CRC expire in November 2022 Contravention: Licensee's partner and daughter require criminal record checks. Links to eCRC were provided to complete these.
