• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. Care plans are in place for children who require extra support. Evidence is missing that the plan was developed in consultation with the parent and any additional third party. Provide documentation to support the development of care plans with child's parent and any person requested by the parent. Outline the system used to ensure evidence is documented for the consultation and review of care plans. One child's file does not have written consent from a parent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. Children's files need to be complete prior to commencement of care. Outline the system developed to ensure children's files are complete.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. Through a review of employee files: -One file is missing evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and TB control program. -One file is missing evidence of ECE certificate validation from the ECE Registry. Employee files must be complete prior to a person working directly with children. Identify the system developed to ensure employee files are complete.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Knives are being kept in a drawer accessible to children. The child lock that is on the drawer is broken and the drawer can be opened easily.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. Staffing files were reviewed. One staff file has phone numbers for two references, however is missing evidence that the references were called and provided a suitable reference.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Manager self identified a section of retaining lumber for the resilient surfacing is starting to deteriorate. There are several sections at the base of the fence that have gaps in excess of 3.5" . One section was measured at 6". A child could crawl under the larger spaces.

  Observation. Observations: Log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded, reportable incidents reported and mitigated appropriately Contravention. On one day all the departure times were missing for the morning Preschool class Method to record the date on which a child stops attending the community care facility needs to be created as per 57(1)(k)

  Observation. Observations : Log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded. Contravention: A service delivery incident occurred that was appropriately mitigated, however needs to be reported to Licensing. One Child's MSP number is missing.
