    Observation. Attendance records do not consistently indicate time of departure for children in the Group 30 Months to School Age and School Age programs. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that a daily record of arrival and departure times be recorded for all children in care. The purpose is for security purposes as well as preparedness in the event of an emergency. Licensing must received written confirmation that this contravention has been corrected no later than November 5, 2025.

    Observation. Attendance records were reviewed for all three programs. Departure time was not consistently recorded for both Multi-Age programs as required. A system must be implemented that ensures times are consistently recorded for both arrival and departure. The facility minor incident log was reviewed. Three separate incidents were found and brought to the attention of the facility manager as needing to be reported. Schedule H definitions of what is reportable were discussed.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Policies and procedures included in section 56 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation must be kept in a single place in the facility that is readily accessible to all staff. Licensees are responsible to ensure that all staff are aware of these policies/procedures and are implementing them appropriately. These policies are not currently kept together in a single location.

    Observation. Staff files were reviewed. One statement of immunization status is still required.

    Observation. Attendance was reviewed for all three programs. Time of departure is not consistently recorded. A system must be in place to ensure both arrival and departure are recorded for each child in care daily. Child registration records were reviewed at random. Immunization status not present on all records.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. A record of monthly fire drills has not been kept since October 2021. A system must be in place to ensure each employee practices the drill a minimum of once each month. A record of annual emergency plan review has not been updated since 2018. A system must be in place to ensure compliance.
