    Observation. It is observed that a canister of cleaner is accessible under the washroom sink. Any items labelled "Keep out of reach of children" must be made inaccessible in order to reduce risk of injury to children. The cleaner has been moved from the area and is inaccessible. The hot water registers at 37.5 degrees Celsius, within the 49 degrees Celsius maximum allowable. The materials and equipment appear to be safe, sanitary, in good repair and appropriate to the ages and developmental levels of children.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. Upon review of child records it is observed that one care plan requires further information in order to be complete. Care plans are required in order to ensure children with diverse needs or abilities are fully supported in the facility and that all employees are aware of actions to take to support the child. Notify Licensing that the Care Plan has been updated by June 4, 2026. The Minor Incident Log and Outdoor Inspection Log appear to be used regularly and are current and complete. Fire Drills and the Emergency Preparedness Plan Practice Log appear to be current and up-to-date.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. Upon review of facility records it is observed that the Licensee and one employee require updated Criminal Record Checks, and that the Certificate of Qualification posted is expired. Validation through the ECE Registry website confirms that the certificate is currently valid. A current Criminal Record Check is required for all persons regularly present in the facility in order to reduce risk to the health, safety and dignity of children in care. A current copy of employee certificates of qualifications are required in order to demonstrate that the care provider has the training required to hold the noted position in the facility. Notify Licensing of application for Criminal Record Check and when the current certificate of qualification is posted in the facility by June 4, 2026.

    Observation. During a review of a sampling of child records it was noted that one child requires a care plan. This is a different file than previously noted.

    Observation. During site inspection it was noted that a bottle of sanitizing solution was stored at a level that would be accessible to children. This was resolved during the inspection.

    Observation. Upon review of employee records it was noted that one requires a resume to demonstrate work history, training and experience. Also, both records required employee statements of immunization status and COVID-19 vaccination status, both of which were added to both files during inspection.

    Observation. Upon review of Fire drill record, Emergency Preparedness record and Attendance record, all were noted to be complete and accurate. Child records required care plans to have further detail in order to be complete. Minor Incident Log book could not be located during inspection, please notify Licensing when the book is located or replaced.

    Observation. The room to the left of the washroom has what appears to be mold in the corner by the kitchenette area on the floor and near or on the baseboard. The Licensee must have this area inspected by a professional in order to determine next steps. Previous to this inspection a complaint was received that there was mold behind the toilet in the facility. Licensing Officer Jen Turnbull observed that the mold-like substance in the washroom appears to have been remediated with new drywall installed. Therefore the previously noted contravention has been resolved.
