• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A child with a care plan was not annually reviewed with the parent. As per the Manager, the parents had verbally updated the facility regarding the emergency medication. Licensing and the Manager discussed annual review of care plans. During the inspection, the Manager was able to review the care plan with the parent during pick-up.

  Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are annually reviewed wtih parents.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Across the 3 rooms, Licensing observed multiple areas where the drywall is exposed due to heavy denting and paint chipping. In the intermediate room cubby area, there is rubber trimming that is no longer secured to the base. There is also a section of the carpet that is fraying. This is a repeat contravention.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the facility and its furniture, equipment, and fixtures are in clean and good repair.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The carpet along the metal joint in the intermediate room is fraying and is no longer secure causing a tripping hazard.

  Corrective action. The Licensee will need to repair or replace the carpet in this area. A written action plan is to be submitted to licensing by July 19, 2021 which may include a future date for completion. If a future date for completion is needed an interim plan must be included to mitigate the risk to persons in care.
