A licensee must ensure that children are adequately supervised by qualified employees in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of each child.
Observation. During the inspection the school age children were observed playing in the outdoor play area with another program and members of the public. Licensing asked the Manager how many children were in the outdoor play area. The Manager was unsure how many children were outside and the names of the children. The Manager checked in with the indoor classroom staff. Strategies for ensuring continuous supervision were discussed including being aware of numbers and names of children in care in the outside play area.
14010 - CCLR s.34(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. Licensing observed that there was no care plan available for a child requiring extra support outlining the following: Permission to administer medication authorized by a family or an area for documenting a child's self-administration of medication.
