    Observation. The following were observed: - Fire extinguisher was not serviced annually. Arrow was pointing at the green zone. - Emergency supplies are not enough to respond to or recovered from an emergency for seven children and two staff

    Corrective action. Licensee will ensure that enough emergency supplies are available to respond to or recovered from an emergency

    A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care, Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection Licensing observed the children in care. Another child under 2 years was dropped off at the daycare. Three children under 2 years old were in attendance. This is a repeat contravention from routine inspection #CLAN-D4ZRSK

    Corrective action. On May 9, 2024 the Licensee submitted a plan to Licensing addressing the contravention of the number and ages of the children in care identified at the routine inspection on May 6, 2024. She stated two children would leave at the end of May. During today's inspection, the Licensee stated that she was caring for the additional child under 2 years old for one day. Licensing observed the communication between the parent and the Licensee confirming this. The child was picked up.

    Observation. During the inspection Licensing reviewed the children's records. Seven children under 4 years old including three children under 2 years old were present. The Legislation permits the Licensee in a family child care to have a maximum of 4 children under 4 years old and within this four a maximum of 2 children under the age of 2 years old.

    Corrective action. The Licensee is required to submit a plan outlining how she will ensure only 4 children under 4 years old (including only two children under two years old) attend the daycare on the same day.

    Observation. Licensing observed the attendance sheet for the children and identified that for some days (including today), some children were not signed in or out.

    Corrective action. If parents do not sign the child in or out, it is the facility's responsibility to do so.
