  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: - There was no sign out record for children who were being transferred from downstairs classroom to upstairs classroom - Attendance sheet was not with the teachers in the upstairs classroom. Teachers confirm that there is an app that they use to ensure all children are signed in.

  Corrective action. Manager will ensure that the attendance record accurately reflect the classroom that the children are in.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.

  Observation. Reviewed seven children's files, and two of the children's files were missing information to guide and direct staff actions when children are showing allergy symptoms.

  Corrective action. Manager will ensure that instructions are obtained from the parents.

• A licensee must ensure that a child, while under the care or supervision of the licensee, is not subjected to any of the following: (c) harsh, belittling or degrading treatment by an employee or another child, whether verbal, emotional or physical, that could humiliate the child or undermine the child's self respect.

  Observation. Through interviews, observations and a review of documentation, Licensing determined that two staff engaged in harsh and belittling treatment towards children on more than one occasion

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the white gate outdoors at the front of the property is broken

  Observation. Licensing observed that four staff either did not have a CRC record on file or the CRC was not from the CRC Review Board under the facility's name.

  Corrective action. Ensure that all CRCs are from the Criminal Records Review Board under the name of the facility. All staff must have a CRC on file available at the facility.
