- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the following: -A bottle of bleach and water was stored in a cupboard that was unlocked. This was located at the children's level. This was corrected during the inspection -Medication for one child was stored in a backpack that is accessible to children
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Licensing observed the care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.
Corrective action. Please ensure this is updated annually and information is consistent on both plans.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Although the fire extinguisher appears to still be fully charged, Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher's service date tag was Aug. 22, 2023, and therefore past due for service. This item was also contravened on 17/Sep/2021 on inspection report number MZIN-C72NXR.
Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced with a new tag.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that one staff did not have any records or file located at the facility.
Corrective action. Ensure that all staff working at the facility has files and records available on-site.
19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that the certificate was not validated for one staff. During the inspection, Licensing showed the facility manager the online procedure for validating staff certificates.
Corrective action. Ensure that certificates are validated for staff.

10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher was due to be serviced on July 16, 2021.
Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced and ready to use in an event of an emergency. Manager said during inspection that it has been communicated to the school that the fire extinguisher needs to be serviced.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one of the staff.
Corrective action. Ensure the staff has their immunization status included in their file.
