  Observation. Licensing measured the water temperature during the inspection. It was 54.9 degrees Celsius.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. No care plan available for a child requiring extra support.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.   Observation. Licensing observed the staff records. One staff record was missing a verification from the Early childhood Educator Registry

• NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES

  A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.

  Observation. A snack menu was not observed in the facility. In discussion the Licensee stated that she provides snack to the children but does not always communicate what snacks were given to the children's families.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to develop a system to share with families what food and drink is given to their children.

  Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.

  Observation. A minimum of three character references were not obtained for two volunteers.

  Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for two volunteers.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drill for March 2023 was not recorded. Though it was not recorded, the manager said that it was completed with the children.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the monthly fire drill is recorded.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher had a purchase date of 2020/09/02.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced annually and ready in case of an emergency.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff certificate validation is included on file.
