- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - [CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION] Fridge temperature is above 4 degrees Celsius - Towels for cleaning the play area and stuffy toys for children to play with were stored next to the toilet. This was a repeat contravention noted on inspection #CLAN-D6UM6N dated July 2, 2024.
Corrective action. Staff said she will remove the toys after washed and store the cleaning towels in a container with lid.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The changing mat in the infant and toddler classroom has a rip/torn on the surface.
Corrective action. Staff said that they will request to have it replaced
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. [CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION] Different detergents and cleaners were observed being stored in an area that are accessible to the children in the infant and toddler classroom.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Emergency supplies for the whole facility appeared to not be sufficient.
Corrective action. Staff will inform the Manager to add more supplies
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Licensing observed that two children from the infant and toddler program were doing gradual entry in the 3-5 program, and there was no record of sign in or out.
Corrective action. Staff will ensure that the attendance record accurately reflect the classroom that the children are in.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - STAFFING
If for any reason an employee described in Column 1 of the table in section 37 [absent employees] ceases employment, (a) section 37 applies, for up to 30 days from the date the employee ceases employment, as if the employee were absent.
Observation. Manager named at this facility has not been employed since March 2025. Change of Manager form will be submitted to the Licensing.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Reviewed four staff files, and one of the staff has a Criminal Record Check from another facility.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure to obtain the Criminal Record Check from this facility

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. During the inspection the following was observed: -A shelf above 4 feet tall must be secured -Blind cords were hanging lower and could cause a potential hazard -A bag of rice was open and on the floor of the kitchen. This could present cross contamination. -Chairs used for eating are stored in the washroom beside the toilets -A broken shelf was stored in the washroom. -Climbers in the classroom and outside must have a six foot fall distance around the structure

Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Diaper cream was located at the children's level and this was accessible -Plastic bags were observed in the floor in the kitchen -Loose cords could present a potential hazard -Laundry detergent was observed on the floor of the infant toddler washroom -Bleach was accessible under the sink. A lock was present but was not applied. -Bottles of bleach and water were observed on the edge of the counter -A kettle filled with hot water was observed close to the edge of the counter -A large bottle of hand sanitizer with a pump was observed in the children's level
11200 - CCLR s.17 - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed the emergency supplies. Some supplies were located in each room. There was insufficient supplies for the number of children in care
Corrective action. Licensing recommends the Manager obtain more supplies and place them in the same area in a bag that is easily transported.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation. An ECE Certificate expired in May 2024 for one employee.
Corrective action. In discussion with the Manager and staff she stated she has renewed the certificate but it was at home. Please ensure to have current records of certificates on site.
12430 - CCLR s.56(1)(b) - STAFFING
Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for one volunteer.
12152 - CCLR s.19(5)(b) - STAFFING
Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (c) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one volunteer.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Fire extinguisher was hidden and took some time for staff to find, as it was not in a visible area. - The fire extinguisher had no service tag. - The emergency plan / location document was missing.
Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is placed in a visible area. This was corrected during inspection. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced with a tag that shows the next service date. Ensure that the emergency plan / location document is at the facility and placed in a visible area.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Licensing observed that for the month of July 2023, the fire drill was not recorded, though staff said it was completed.
Corrective action. Ensure that records are up to date.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Licensing observed that one child did not have their medical insurance plan number on file.
Corrective action. Ensure that the child's file is complete.
