- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. Staff records were reviewed during inspection. One staff record did not include a statement of immunization status. This file also requires a criminal record clearance letter for the current organization for which they are employed. A valid criminal record clearance letter is on file but for a previous organization of employment. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that all staff declare their immunization status to ensure their health and safety in the event of an outbreak. The Criminal Records Review Act requires that all criminal record clearance letters reflect a person's current place of employment and cannot be transferred. Written confirmation of corrections made are to be submitted to Licensing no later than May 14, 2025.
- C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical
Observation. The facility fire drill records were reviewed. It appears that a drill was not conducted for October and November 2024. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that a minimum of one fire drill be conducted each month by every employee. This is to ensure preparedness in the event of a fire. Written confirmation of correction is to be submitted to Licensing no later than May 14, 2025. A record indicating that each employee practices/reviews the facility emergency plan at least once each year could not be located during inspection. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires this to be done in order to ensure preparedness of all staff in the event of an emergency. Written confirmation of correction is to be submitted to Licensing no later than May 14, 2025.
