Section 56(c) of the Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that a record be kept as evidence that all staff have reviewed the details of the emergency plan at least once each year. The purpose is to ensure staff are prepared in the event of an emergency. Licensing must receive written notification that a record is on site and available to record the date of the annual emergency plan review no later than April 16, 2026.

Observation. Child registration records located on site were reviewed at random. Various required information is not currently included on the forms available on site. Each record must include an emergency contact other than the parent, gender, date of birth, and date of enrolment. Consent to release a child to someone other than the parent must also be present in writing. A signed emergency consent must also be kept on site. THIS CONTRAVENTION WAS IDENTIFIED DURING THE PREVIOUS INSPECTION CONDUCTED JANUARY 10, 2024. Minor incident reports were reviewed. One report had been sent to the main office and was not available on site for review during inspection. Staff records located on site were reviewed. Evidence of reference checks were not available for two staff. Copies from the main office must be kept on site with all other documents.

One care card number was required for a child who has been attending since June 2023. One child in attendance did not have any records on site at time of inspection. There is currently no written consent from parents to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. As discussed, this consent must be in writing and be accessible to view with other registration records on site. THIS CONTRAVENTION WAS IDENTIFIED DURING PREVIOUS INSPECTION.
