• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Two sleeping mats in the Group Child Care (under 36 months) program were observed to be stored upright with bedding touching. If bedding is not freshly laundered it must be stored in a way that does not allow for potential cross contamination. This will help to prevent the spread of illness. A sanitizer was located at a level that could be accessed by children in the Group Child Care (30 months to school age) program. All potentially hazardous products must be stored in a manner so that they are inaccessible to children in care. Two outdoor climber toys with platform heights above 18 inches were observed to be located in areas of the playground that do not have protective surfacing. If these toys are to be used without protective surfacing underneath, a safety plan must be in place for the safe use of each.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. Daily attendance records were reviewed at random for all programs. On program did not consistently have time of departure recorded for all children in care. Please ensure time of arrival and departure are recorded daily for all children.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. LO Vermeulen discussed the licensee's emergency plan with the facility manager. The plan is reviewed by all staff at least once each year, however, a record of this review is not currently being kept. Please provide Licensing with a plan to ensure compliance.
