    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. A large heavy cabinet in the washroom is not secured to the wall which may pose as a topple hazard during an emergency situation.

    Corrective action. Manager said that they will secure the cabinet.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. The children's blankets are stored in one box all together which risks cross contamination.

    Corrective action. Manager said they will store blankets in separate bins.

    Observation. The cleaning supplies were in an unlocked cabinet accessible to children in care.

    Corrective action. The Licensee stated that moving forward the storage cupboard will be locked at all times.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. The drinks in the emergency supply kit have all expired. The food in the supply kit has all been removed from the original packages and therefore there is no expiry date to review.

    Corrective action. The Licensee stated that the expired supplies will be removed and replaced with new ones by the end of the week.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed four children's files. Three of these files did not identify the child's start date.
