  Observation. There are not enough emergency supplies to prepare for and respond to any emergency.

  Corrective action. The manager said that they will add more supplies.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Upon review of staff files, one ECEA is missing a certificate validation.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that staff records are complete.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. No care plan available for a child requiring extra support.

  Corrective action. The facility will create the care plan within one week.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed three staff files. A Criminal Record Check has not been obtained for one staff.

  Corrective action. The facility will ensure the criminal record check is obtained.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Five children's registration information was reviewed and one child was missing details of a medical practitioner.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including Dr's name and contact details.

  Observation. Emergency supplies were not available at the time of the inspection. LO reviewed this item with the staff during the inspection and with the Licensee the following day.

  Corrective action. Ensure emergency supplies are available at all times in the event of an emergency.

  A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

  Observation. Three children's files were reviewed and one child present during the inspection did not have parental consent in the event of an emergency. LO reviewed this item with the staff during the inspection and with the licensee the following day.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including consent from parents/guardians.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

  Observation. Three children's files were reviewed during the inspection. One child did not have a photograph or digital image available at the time of the inspection. LO reviewed this item with the staff during the inspection and with the licensee the day after the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including photographs or digital images.

  Observation. Three children's files were reviewed. Two children present during the inspection did not have Doctor's names or phone numbers available. LO reviewed these items with the staff during the inspection and with the licensee the day after the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure all the children's files are complete including Doctor's name and contact details.
