• C7.2 - Is there adequate and appropriate indoor and outdoor space, materials, and equipment?Critical

  Observation. 1. Allegation: CCLR Section 16(4)(a) Play area, materials and equipment - Some of the outdoor play equipment is not age or developmentally appropriate. The equipment appears quite advanced and challenging for the younger children attending the program. Findings: UNSUBSTANTIATED. The outdoor play space has various equipment available to meet the ages and developmental levels of the children attending the Multi-Age Child Care program. Children between the ages of 0-12 years are permitted to attend a Multi-Age Child Care program. Active supervision practices, detailed in the supervision policy, are implemented during outside play to ensure that younger children do not use equipment that is more age appropriate for older children. 2. Allegation, CCLR Section 16(4)(b) Play area, materials and equipment - The rubber tile surfacing throughout the outdoor play space is uneven and increases the potential risks of tripping and falling. Findings: SUBSTANTIATED. Some of the rubber tiles, used as resilient surfacing in the outdoor play space, are uneven and, therefore, create tripping hazards. Increased inspections of the resilient material used in outdoor play spaces ensures that the surface is free from hazards, is in good repair, and retains its impact absorbing effectiveness, which naturally degrades over time due to weather, compaction, and foot traffic. *Correct by: July 28, 2026.*

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. - The criminal record check for a person living in the home and who is over the age of 12 years was expired and required renewal. A valid criminal record check from the Criminal Records Review Program in Victoria must be obtained before the person is permitted to be on the premises of the facility when the children are present. *Correct by: June 26, 2025.* - The criminal record check results letter completed for the Licensee was addressed to the Licensee. To ensure the results are valid, criminal record checks completed for Licensees must be processed by and addressed to Licensing Direct. *Correct by: June 26, 2025.* - Staff files were missing some required documents such as a valid first aid certificate, a valid ECE certificate, and a criminal record check results letter that is addressed to the Licensee who is the employer. To reduce potential risk to the children in care, the required documents for all employees must be obtained before they are permitted to work with the children. *Correct by: June 26, 2025.*

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. - A care plan for a child in care was missing evidence that the plan had been reviewed at least once in the last year. To ensure the the information in a child's care plan is current, a care plan is required to be reviewed annually by the Licensee, the parent of the child, and any person requested by the parent. *Correct by: June 19, 2025.* Other records such as the daily attendance records, child registration and emergency records, the minor incident log, and the outdoor play space inspection log were also reviewed and they were complete and up to date.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. - The play castle in the inside play space was located in a corner of the room. The orange slide attached to the play castle was located right next to the wall. Between the side of the slide and the wall was a gap that could potentially increase the risk of entrapment to the children. The gap between the slide and the wall must be reduced and/or eliminated to prevent parts of a child's body from becoming trapped. *Correct by: June 16, 2025.*
