• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. - In conjunction with the Licensee's large scale evacuation plan, access to emergency supplies (e.g. food, water, flashlight, batteries, blankets, activities for the children, etc.) must be readily available in the event of a facility and/or neighbourhood evacuation. Monthly fire drills were recorded and the record was displayed in the facility as required. The large scale evacuation plan was practiced in August 2024.

• C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

  Observation. - Ensure the manager's name is posted in a prominent place in the facility. Other applicable documents, including the facility licence and the Licensee's ITE certificate, were posted in the facility as required.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. - A system is needed for monitoring the fridge temperature to ensure that it does not exceed 4C. This practice will promote safe food storage and help to prevent food borne illness. No other hazards were observed by Licensing in the inside and outside play spaces.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. - Ensure the log for play space inspections, maintenance, and repairs is kept up to date. Other record keeping methods such as minor incident records, attendance records, child emergency cards, etc. were reviewed by Licensing and they appeared satisfactory.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. - Ensure that the outside shed, which stores hazardous objects, is kept locked when children in care are present.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. - The criminal record checks for the licensee and for another person, who is over the age of 12 yrs and who lives on site, were expired and require renewal. The licensee's first aid certificate was valid and expires in 2023. Licensing reviewed the file in place for the supported child care worker and it appeared complete as required.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Ensure there is a way to monitor the fridge temperature as it cannot exceed 4C for safe food storage.
