  Observation. The Licensing Officer observed the following: - debris and other objects were observed amongst the bushes by the edge of the outside play yard and by the retaining wall above the rock pathway. - pet excrement was observed in the outside play yard used by the children. - a bucket full of standing water was observed in the outside play yard used by the children. - a bedroom that was deemed off limits and not used for child care must be made inaccessible to the children in care. - the fridge in the kitchen, which was used to store the children's lunches, contained food particles and needed cleaning.

  Observation. Licensing audited seven children's files and observed one missing date of enrolment. Licensing observed this corrected at the time of inspection

  Observation. Licensing observed the log for outdoor inspections was last recorded on October 7, 2022.

  Corrective action. Ensure a log of all inspections, maintenance and repairs are recorded.

• Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. Licensing observed a staff did not have a valid ECE certificate. The certificate expired September 2020. The Licensee stated the paper work had been sent to the ECE Registry.

  Corrective action. Ensure ratio of employees to children is not less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. Licensee's criminal record check needs to be updated as it expired in July, 2020.

  Corrective action. Ensure criminal record check is kept current. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.

  Observation. Licensing observed the items high up were not secured and in areas accessible to the children in care. This item of non compliance will be carried over from previous routine on September 7, 2021 to Routine performed on October 20, 2022.

  Observation. Licensing observed some heavy items stored on top of white cupboards e.g. games and wooden puzzles in the main playroom and a fan on high window shelf in the naproom. This represents a safety concern in the event of an earthquake.

  Corrective action. Ensure heavy items are either secured or are stored in a lower location in the facility. Action/s Required by Licensing: Follow Up Inspection to be conducted.
